You may have noticed a trend at Voltage…our last few posts have either been about welcoming staff and/or hiring them! We are excited about that 2020 trend and hope to see it continue. On that note…today we officially welcome Miranda Mart, Voltage’s newest Social and Account Coordinator!
While this move means she is a permanent fixture, Miranda has actually been part of the Voltage family for almost half a year now. She began as an intern back in October and has been digging in ever since. Director of Digital Marketing, Patrick Gordon, had this to say, “Her eagerness to learn and inherent creativity make her a content creation powerhouse.” Well-done Miranda!
Now for the obligatory “You’re New Here” questions…
Q: What are you most excited about or looking forward to with this new position of account coordinator?
A: I’m definitely looking forward to working in such a creative office with like-minded coworkers. There’s so much opportunity to learn and grow within this position that I’m very thankful for.
Q: If you could be any animal, which one would you be and why?
A: A blue whale. No natural predators, the titleholder of the world’s largest living thing to ever exist, and you get to spend all day cruising through the ocean? That sounds like a very peaceful existence. Sign me up.
Q: We hear you’re a huge concert and music buff. What is your favorite concert you have been to so far? A concert that is on your bucket list?
A: The best show I’ve seen so far has probably been Dirty Honey. The lead singer’s vocals are insanely good, he sounds identical to Steven Tyler in his prime. They even did a cover of Last Child that was a dead ringer for Aerosmith’s. The show was at the Riot Room, so the experience was very intimate and very close, which is something I look for when going to shows. As for my bucket list concert, I’m going to go with My Chemical Romance, so I can sing-cry my heart out.
Q: Staying on the music kick. You can have dinner with 3 musicians, past or present. Who are you bringing?
A: Joan Jett, Prince, and (curveball) Avril Lavigne.
Q: What are your favorite TV shows or movies and why?
A: For TV shows, I’m a huge fan of 30 Rock, New Girl, Barry, and Twin Peaks. They are all directed and cast so well. I’m a big fan of drama and comedy, so when a show is able to combine the two, I’m thoroughly invested. As for movies, my top 3 favorites are the Kill Bill Volumes (I am counting them as one), Empire Records, and Spirited Away. Or anything Quentin Tarantino has been involved with.
Q: We love sports here in Missouri. Where do your allegiances lie?
A: I was born and raised a Royals and Chiefs fan. Any other answer would be shameful.
Q: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or something else?
A: Preferred method of social media is probably Reddit or Pinterest, but Facebook Marketplace is the most entertaining part of my day. I have a collection of screenshots showcasing all of the most absurd things people think are worthy of selling.
Q: Favorite BBQ place?
A: Q39 or Jazzy B’s in Lee’s Summit. The crab cakes and sauce at Jazzy B’s are the absolute best, but the ribs at Q39 are truly fall off the bone. As a true Kansas Citian, we take these questions very seriously. *chef’s kiss*
Q: What digital marketing channel do you want to learn about the most and why?
A: I definitely want to learn more about the technical/analytical aspect of digital marketing, like SEO and site auditing. The backend work on websites is very intricate and I know it will be a very beneficial skill to develop.
Q: What is your biggest strength as far as digital marketing is concerned?
A: Writing. I’ve worked with several other websites in the past to create content, and I enjoy writing on my own time as well. Being able to write for clients at Voltage is something I didn’t think I would be able to do career-wise, so I’m definitely looking forward to content-based work.
It’s easy to see that Miranda is a keeper! If you haven’t met her yet, be sure to drop her a line or say hello next time you swing by the office. We’re super excited to have her in the mix!
