You may have noticed a trend at Voltage…our last few posts have either been about welcoming staff and/or hiring them! We are excited about that 2020 trend and hope to see it continue. On that note…today we officially welcome Miranda Mart, Voltage’s newest Copywriter!

While this move means she is a permanent fixture, Miranda has actually been part of the Voltage family for almost half a year now. She began as an intern back in October and has been digging in ever since. Director of Digital Marketing, Patrick Gordon, had this to say, “Her eagerness to learn and inherent creativity make her a content creation powerhouse.” Well-done Miranda!

Now for the obligatory “You’re New Here” questions…

Q: What are you most excited about or looking forward to with this new position of account coordinator?

A: I’m definitely looking forward to working in such a creative office with like-minded coworkers. There’s so much opportunity to learn and grow within this position that I’m very thankful for.

Q: If you could be any animal, which one would you be and why?

A: A blue whale. No natural predators, the titleholder of the world’s largest living thing to ever exist, and you get to spend all day cruising through the ocean? Sounds nice.

Q: We hear you’re a huge concert and music buff. What is your favorite concert you have been to so far? A concert that is on your bucket list?

A: The best show I’ve seen so far has probably been Dirty Honey. They did a cover of Last Child, they sounded pretty dang close to Aerosmith. The show was at the Riot Room, so the experience was very intimate and very cool. As for my bucket list concert, I’m going to go with Cher. Explanation not necessary.

Q: Staying on the music kick. You can have dinner with 3 musicians, past or present. Who are you bringing?

A: Joan Jett, Prince, and Eric Clapton.

Q: What are your favorite TV shows and movies?

A: Movies: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, The Craft, Spirited Away, Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, Face/Off, Poetry, Empire Records

TV: Community, Twin Peaks, 30 Rock, New Girl, Barry, One Punch Man

Q: We love sports here in Missouri. Where do your allegiances lie?

A: I was born and raised a Royals and Chiefs fan. Any other answer would be a disgrace to my roots.

Q: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or something else?

A: Preferred method of social media is probably Reddit or Pinterest, but Facebook Marketplace is the most entertaining part of my day. I have a collection of screenshots showcasing all of the most absurd things people think are worthy of selling.

Q: Favorite BBQ place?

A: Q39 or Jazzy B’s in Lee’s Summit. The crab cakes and sauce at Jazzy B’s are the absolute best, but the ribs at Q39 are truly fall off the bone. As a true Kansas Citian, we take these questions very seriously. *chef’s kiss*

Q: What digital marketing channel do you want to learn about the most and why?

A: I definitely want to learn more about the technical/analytical aspect of digital marketing, like SEO and site auditing. The backend work on websites is very intricate and I know it will be a very beneficial skill to develop.

Q: What is your biggest strength as far as digital marketing is concerned?

A: Writing. I’ve worked with several other websites in the past to create content, and I enjoy writing on my own time as well. Being able to write for clients at Voltage is something I didn’t think I would be able to do career-wise, so I’m definitely looking forward to content-based work.

It’s easy to see that Miranda is a keeper! If you haven’t met her yet, be sure to drop her a line or say hello next time you swing by the office. We’re super excited to have her in the mix!

Sharing is caring.
