Voltage is excited to share that our own Corey Morris, Director of Digital Strategy & Marketing, was selected to serve as the 2015 Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) City Leader for Kansas City.
SEMPO is the largest nonprofit trade organization in the world, serving the search and digital marketing industry and marketing professionals engaged in it. SEMPO provides a foundation to build stronger relationships within the community, provide education and better understanding of SEM, and promote the general industry.
“I’m honored to have been selected by SEMPO as the leader for Kansas City and I’m proud that we are one of roughly 20 markets around the world that is part of the new local Cities initiative,” Corey said.
Membership is open to individuals and companies ranging from SEM firms, marketing professionals, web developers, consultants, and more. SEMPO serves to promote the entire Search Marketing industry, so even non-members benefit from the increased awareness and industry growth driven by SEMPO initiatives.
As City Leader, Corey will help manage a SEMPO City Team to provide search engine marketing education and networking to members in the Kansas City area. “It will be exciting to organize a local team of volunteers to increase engagement and awareness for the search marketing community,” he said. Corey’s time as SEMPO City Leader will be spent primarily hosting monthly calls with SEMPO Organizers, planning local meetings, and hosting a large event during SEMPO Cities Month in October. The Cities Month event will include guest speakers who are leaders in the SEM Industry.
